Recognition lists change every admission cycle. Before paying any fees, check the university and your intake year on the official lists.
What each licensing route asks of a Kyrgyz medical degree:
Graduates of schools whose WDOMS entry carries an ECFMG note can apply for ECFMG certification, sit USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK, and enter the residency match. Check the graduation years on the note: newer schools only qualify from their first eligible class.
NMC does not publish a list of approved foreign universities. Under the FMGL Regulations 2021 the course itself must comply: at least 54 months of study and a 12-month internship at the same university, English-medium teaching, and a licence to practise in Kyrgyzstan. Graduates then pass FMGE (later NExT).
PMDC withdrew its list of recognised foreign institutions in 2025. Since then only graduates of ECFMG-accredited schools may sit the National Registration Examination (NRE), alongside recognition by the home regulator (PMDC notice L220, July 2026).
